Anne K. Seymour

Anne Seymour, who likes to refer to herself as an old buffalo, has twenty years of experience in research, evaluation, public policy development, media relations, training and technical assistance.  She served as a Director for the National Office of Mothers Against Drunk Driving and, in 1985, co-founded the National Victim Center (now the National Center for Victims of Crime).  She is an expert and major author on offender reentry issues and their impact on victims of crime.  Ms. Seymour is the author of The Victim Role in Offender Reentry (APPA 2001), co-author of The Three Rs of Offender Reentry (Justice Solutions2003) and co-author of Creating a Victim Focus: A Guide to Working with Victims During Offender Reentry (OVC 2004).  She is also the principal author of numerous policy manuals, protocols and parole board manuals.

Ms. Seymour has served as a criminal and juvenile justice and victim services consultant to the National Institute of Corrections, the National Institute of Justice, the Bureau of Justice Assistance and the Office for  Victims of Crime within the U.S. Department of Justice.  She is currently a Senior Advisor to Justice Solutions, a Washington DC-based non-profit organization.  She is also the Director of the OVC Oral History Project and Director of the OVC Victim and Public Education Campaign.  Ms. Seymour has received numerous honors for her work to benefit crime victims and the field of corrections, including the 1992 Outstanding Service to Victims of Crime Presidential Award.
